World Maritime University (WMU)
General Information
The World Maritime University was founded in 1983 as IMO's apex institution for high-level maritime education and training. It was intended to help achieve the aims and objectives of the International Maritime Organization in encouraging and facilitating the highest practicable standards in maritime safety, efficiency of navigation and the prevention and control of marine pollution. WMU offers four Master of Sciences degree courses, plus professional development courses. There are now over 1,800 WMU graduates from more than 142 countries worldwide.
