General Information
The Academy started in 1973 with 1-year vocational course. In 1978 it introduced a 2-year associate course in marine engineering and a 3-year course in marine transportation. Also offered were 2-year courses in marine electronics, electrical, refrigeration and machine shop technician. There are also 4 basic upgrading courses for seamen and others including the 1-year merchant marine course.
