Are there any differences between 'Clean Ballast Tanks' (CBT) and 'Segregated Ballast Tanks'(SBT)?

CBTs require separate pipes, SBTs do not.
CBTs cargo tanks are also used for ballast, SBTs are not.
In general, no operational differences.
SBT can be used optionally as cargo tanks, CBT not.

What is meant by that the tank atmosphere is 'too rich' and 'too lean'?

Atmosphere is combustible in both situations.
Atmosphere is combustible in 'too lean' status but not in 'too rich'.
Atmosphere is combustible in 'too rich' status, but not in 'too lean'.
Atmosphere is not combustible in either situation.

An OBO or O/O carrier, due to the movement of liquid in a cargo hold during rough weather, the possibility of liquid entering the inert gas piping is great. To avoid this U-bends are sometimes fitted on the line emerging from the hatch coaming. These bends generally have a drain cock at the bottom. These cocks should be:

Never opened?
Left open during rough weather to prevent liquid being trapped in the U-bend and blocking the line?
Opened after rough weather or before loading/discharging or transferring cargo to check for liquid accumulation and contents drained into a drip pan.
Opened and checked every day irrespective of the weather?

What would be considered as vital areas for the ratings to keep under constant watch during SPM loading operations?

A-deck alley way, accommodation ladder, radio station?
Forecastle head, manifolds, maindeck?
Pump room, engine room, galley, firestations?
Bridge, cargo control room, poopdeck?

When converting from 'dry' cargo (example iron ore) to crude oil, you would:

Sweep holds clean first and lift out solid residues manually prior washing. After washing again lift out remaining wet residues after carefully stripping out only the accumulated water?
Lift out sweepings from the bottom only and not do any water washing in the holds?
Wash cargo holds first and use all the stripping pumps available to get rid of the accumulated water and solid residues?
As a little iron ore dust might not do any harm to the crude oil to be loaded, you would not do any cleaning at all?

Prior to commence loading, in what way would you best ensure a smooth technical operation?

All the mentioned alternatives?
Test/check the COW system?
Test/check the cargo pumps?
Test/check cargo pipes?

What is the requirement for bolting/securing of the blind flanges on the cargo manifold during cargo operation?

Every second bolts to be in position and tightened?
All bolts to be in position and tightened?
None of the bolts need to be tightened as long as no leakage from the flange?
Minimum 4 bolts?

UFL and LFL are commonly used expressions. What do they signify?

Unstable Flash Level / Lower Flash Level?
Expressions have no meaning.
Upper Fixed Level / Lower Fixed Level?
Upper Flammable Level / Lower Flammable Level of explosive atmosphere?

What is the correct position/working area for the deck watchman during cargo operation?

On the weather deck only?
Stand by in the crew mess?
On the cargo tank area all time?
In the cargo control room?

During COW what actions are required if delivered inert gas exceeds 8 per cent by volume?

To be ignored as max. oxygen permitted is 18 % by volume?
Stop operation?
No action to be taken, but try to obtain levels below 8 % by volume?
No action to be taken, as required max. oxygen permitted is 12 % by volume?
