With full load on the main engine, the RPM for the turbocharger is too low. What may cause this?

Exhaust temperatures on the main engine are to high
Dirty nozzle ring.
The lubricating oil pump is malfunctioning
The diffuser ring is damaged

What could be the possible cause of an engine knocking?

Any of the below
Too big a piston clearance, worn cylinder liner.
The gudgeon pin or big end bearing having too big a clearance.
Faults in injection valves, injection too early.

You have a leak cylinderlier ( poor O -rings on a water cooled compressor). Where is the leaking water most likely to go when the compressor is running?

Into the crankcase and mix with the lube oil.
Into the HP air discharge and mix with the air from the compressor.
Into the LP air discharge and mix with the air from the compressor.
Out of the suction filter for the HP cylinder.

The lubricating oil on the exhaust side of the turbine blower gets very dirty after only a few hours in service. What can the reason be?

Lubricating oil is mixed with salt water
Wrong type of oil used
Exhaust gas leaking into the oil chamber
Worn out bearing turbine side.

During routine checking of an engine after start up it is discovered that a pipe leading to a starting air valve is hot. Is this due to;

A sticking inlet valve.
A sticking start air valve.
A sticking exhaust valve.
A sticking fuel valve.

If fuel or diesel oil is leaking from our HP fuel oil pumps, and penetrate into the lube oil system of the engine, the result may be:

No harm to the lube oil as long as we clean the lube oil strainers very often.
It will dilute the lube oil so the lubrication in the engine becomes more effective.
The inside of all lube oil piping, filters and the engine itself will participate in a cleaning process when the fuel or diesel are mixed with the lubrication oil.
It will destroy the properties of the lube oil and lead to serious damage in our engine.

If an engine does not turn when the starting air is applied, what could be the most probable cause?

Any of the alternatives.
One or more starting air valve(s) have stuck.
The starting air distributor does not rotate, the coupling drive defective.
Starting air pressure is too low.

How can you recognize a blow-by (cylinder/piston) ?

Increased lube oil temperature after the lube oil cooler.
Drastic decrease in the fuel oil consumption.
Smoke and increased pressure in the crankcase of the engine.
Increased temperature in the inlet air manifold on the engine.
